Plasma Therapy also known as Therapeutic Plasma Exchage (TPE) / Plasmapheresis is a medical procedure which utilizes Blood Cell separator machine to exchange patient’s plasma with physiologic fluids such as 5 % albumin or fresh frozen plasma (FFP), mixture of electrolytes or purified protein.

The procedure is primarily done to remove the liquid portion of the blood, called plasma containing various normal or pathogenic circulatory factors such as autoantibodies, cytokines, triglycerides, toxins, cytokines, adhesion molecules, complement proteins, and other unwanted molecules, and then replace this with another physiological fluid.

Plasma exchange has a lot of established medical benefits in treating various auto-immune, neurological, immunological applications.
